About
Laura Roettiger is a reading specialist and former elementary teacher so school visits are her favorite part of being an author. She has done presentations for preschools, family events on weekends and evenings, single classrooms from kindergarten – fifth grade, and whole school events with over 400 children in one room plus all of the teachers, a projector, and a microphone. All of these have been rewarding for the audience based on feedback from children and administrators.
School Visit Topics & Activities
My slideshow presentation includes the inspiration for ALIANA REACHES FOR THE MOON, my own photography of the moon and the Rocky Mountains, reading the book and Q&A. I also offer writing workshops for students up to 8th grade and curiosity workshops based on the book and the scientific method. I'm happy to work with schools to support any literacy or science needs.
