Todd Mitchell



Todd Mitchell is the author of several award-winning middle grade and YA novels including The Namer of Spirits (Owl Hollow Press), The Last Panther (Penguin Random House), The Traitor King (Scholastic), and The Secret to Lying (Candlewick). In addition to writing books for young readers, Todd works with teachers on ways to enhance literacy and creativity. His newest nonfiction book for adult creators is titled Breakthrough: How to Overcome Doubt, Fear, and Resistance so that You Can Be Your Ultimate Creative Self. Todd has performed author visits at over 100 elementary, middle, and high schools. He can design sessions to suit your school’s needs. Session possibilities include:

• Writing to Change the World (grades 3-12): large group inspirational session focused on encouraging students to create personal connections to writing, develop their voices, and positively influence the world.

• Poetry Writing Games (grades 4-12): Fun games that help students develop voice, imagery, creativity, and a love for writing.

• How Writers Work (grades 4-12): Narrative writing workshop focused on character, setting, voice, and scenes.
