4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

April is National Poetry Month! To celebrate, join verse novelist and local author Megan E. Freeman as she explores a variety of middle grade and young adult verse novels and their broad appeal to reluctant and enthusiastic readers alike. Megan will give a behind-the-scenes look into how verse novels are crafted, and will provide all participants with an annotated bibliography, a deeper understanding of the differences between verse and prose, and resources to support you in your classroom, with your kids, or in your own writing practice.

Attendees will receive a copy of Megan's middle grade verse novel, Alone*, available for pick up that day, along with an annotated bibliography of dozens of poetry and verse novels. The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop will also have a wide array of verse novels on hand in the store for browsing after the event!

This workshop is in-person and masks are optional . We are dedicated to keeping our community safe. If you are feeling unwell or showing signs of illness on the evening of the event (cough, sniffles, sore throat, fever, etc.), please stay home and contact the shop about picking up your book at a later time.
